Voices of Spirit, Voices of Action: Searching for Justice

First Presbyterian Church of Yellow Springs
On Wednesday, Dec. 17, First Presbyterian Church will host “Voices of Spirit, Voices of Action: Searching for Justice,” beginning at 7 p.m. The ecumenical service is a response to the rising tensions between citizens and police nationwide, and will feature: original poetry by Bomani Moyenda, Cheryl Smith, and Sommer McGuire; musical performances by Vocal Vortex and World House Choir; an interfaith prayer of justice by the Rev. Marcy Bain; a sermon by the Rev. Sherri Blackwell; a call to action by Ohio Student Association representative Amaha Sellasie; thoughts from the policing perspective by Yellow Springs Police Department Interim Chief Dave Hale; and remarks by the Rev. Aaron Maurice Saari. All are welcome, and attendees are asked to bring candles to light at the close of the service.
This is a joint effort with the Yellow Springs United Methodist Church.
