Update:

President Mark Roosevelt, the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, and alumni will celebrate the commencement ceremony of the graduating class of 2015 – the first class to graduate from Antioch since 2008. Commencement coincides with a multi-class reunion celebration lasting from June 18 through June 21.

WHEN: Saturday, June 20, 2015
10:00 a.m.

Event location: Wellness Center, South Gym (Rain Location)

BACKGROUND: In 1965, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered the commencement address titled “Facing the Challenge of a New Age” to the graduating class. Fifty years later, Antioch College will graduate its first class since reopening in 2011. King lawyer and confidant Dr. Clarence Jones will deliver the commencement address. Jones also helped King write his landmark “I Have a Dream” speech. Jones replaces long-scheduled speaker Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) who is unable to attend due to a death in his family.

All are invited to join in celebration of this historic occasion. Tickets are not required, but RSVPs are encouraged to ensure appropriate accommodations. Seating is limited in the South Gym. The event will be live streamed in the Foundry Theater, Room 219 of the Art and Science Building, Room 113 of McGregor Hall, and online at the College’s website.
