“What Everyone Should Know About Catholic-Controlled Hospitals and
Long-Term Care Providers and the End of Life”

Robb Miller, who was the Executive Director of Compassion & Choices of Washington for fifteen years, is an expert on how the policies of the Catholic Church and other religious organizations affect patients and residents of religious-controlled hospitals, medical providers and long-term facilities. During his presentation, Robb will reveal how the Church’s policies on end-of-life care result in patients being denied critical information necessary to make fully informed decisions about their end-of-life care, as well as why the choices you make might not be honored. He will also discuss options for a peaceful, humane death in Ohio and how to ensure that your end-of-life wishes will be honored. Miller is presenting material concerning this topic that everyone needs to know about choosing medical facilities for their care, and about how effective advanced directives can be in different medical facilities. That is, are medical providers obligated to honor advanced directives?
