Trails to Ales
Glen Helen Ecology Institute
Monday, September 21, 2015
6-9:30 p.m.

Please all of your senses, from stunning scenery to aromatic craft beers and succulent BBQ.

Raise a glass with friends old and new while raising awareness for Glen Helen Nature Preserve!

Lace up your boots, grab your friends, and let’s head to the trails! We’ll work up an appetite as we explore the rich environment at Glen Helen Nature Preserve before returning to the Yellow Springs Brewery to sample unique, hand-crafted beers and mouthwatering southern favorites, courtesy of Crossroads BBQ.

After our hike, you’ll have a chance to hear brewing tips from the owner/brewmaster of Yellow Springs Brewery, as we enjoy an insiders’ tour of the tap room. Your mouth will be watering as the tour comes to a close and Crossroads BBQ fires up the pit!

We’ll round out the evening with a prize drawing, where three lucky winners will raise a glass in celebration.

FAQs
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Yes. All attendees must be 21 or older. ID’s must be shown at check-in.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Participants may park in the gravel parking lot located at the Yellow Springs Brewery. Street parking is also available. Carpooling is suggested.

What can/can’t I bring to the event?
Pets are not permitted.
Closed-toe, trail ready shoes are required. We suggest hiking boots/shoes.

It may get dark while we are on our hike. We suggest bringing a flashlight, but ask that participants bring red or blue filtered lights only. This allows for our eyes to adjust to the darkness, so that we may enjoy the evening setting at its best. Red/blue filtered flashlights are available online and at most camping supply stores. If you are unable to bring a filtered flashlight, heavily colored red/blue plastic, wrapped over your light and held with a rubber band will usually do the trick!

Will the event be canceled if it rains?
The hike portion of this event is weather dependent. In the event of rain or other weather that may make our hike dangerous or difficult, we will cancel the hike, but continue with the rest of the fun!

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Please let us know if you wish to transfer your ticket to another person. Call Tina at 937-769-1902 or email at tspencer @glenhelen.org.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, but you will need a photo ID. Please have your ID ready when you check in.
