Celebrate Earth Day! Visitors have fun while connecting with environmental, community, and health-related resources to gain knowledge, skills, and inspiration for an exciting, green lifestyle. The festival features community groups, artists, educators, community builders and changemakers from throughout the Miami Valley. Spend the day having fun with hands-on activities, Kids Zone, live music, environmental/outdoor programming, guided hikes, while supporting eco-friendly organizations and businesses.

8:45 am:
12 Mile Trail Exploration Hike: Join the Miami Rivers Chapter of the Buckeye Trail Association and explore Glen Helen, John Bryan, & Clifton Gorge. Donations appreciated. Departs from Trailside.
9:45 am:
6 Mile Trail Exploration Hike: Explore Glen Helen and John Bryan with members of the Miami Rivers Chapter of the Buckeye Trail. Donations appreciated. Departs from Trailside.
10 am:
Shred-It Recycling Event: In partnership with the Yellow Springs, OHChamber of Commerce, Shred-It, a certified secure document disposal company, will be available to securely shred and recycle your confidential papers. Free. 10am-1pm
Earth Blessing Meditation: Join us in a meditation focusing on opening the heart, healing, and the positive consciousness in this space and around the world. Vernet Building, rear patio. 10am-10:30am
Perennial Plant Swap: Perennials must be divided on a regular basis to maintain healthy and vigorous growth. Add to your garden or share your bounty of native perennials (plants or seeds) with others by participating in the Perennial Plant Swap, sponsored by the Tecumseh Land Trust. 10am-5pm
Gear Swap: Do you have used gear to sell? True Heights Equipment Outfitter are on hand to do just that! Bring unwanted/gently used outdoor gear that others may be interested in adding to their stash! 10am-5pm
Paw Patrol Pup Adoption Event: Pups enjoy hiking too! Visit with Paw Patrol of Dayton to meet local pups that would love to join you on your next hike in the Glen. 10am-5pm
Miami Valley Flute Circle: Enjoy the hypnotic sound of Native flutes and drums, as performed by members of the Miami Valley Flute Circle, Mystic Flutes & Tribal Drums. Performances throughout the day. Talus Meadow. 10am-5pm
Bike Safety Checks: Bring your bike for a thorough safety check, provided by Black Pug Bike Repair 10am-5pm
Kid Zone & Trailside Museum: Meet our animal ambassadors at the Trailside Museum and participate in hands-on Earth Day activities.10am-5pm
10:45 am:
4 Mile Trail Exploration Hike: Hike the highlights and explore lesser traveled trails with the Miami Rivers Chapter of the Buckeye Trail. Donations appreciated. Departs from Trailside.
12 pm:
Rails to Trails: You can hike and bike from the Elroy-Sparta State Trail to the Ohio to Erie Trail, thanks to the Rails to Trails Conservancy. Join us to learn about where the trail may take you. Auditorium.
1 pm:
Teddy Roosevelt Speaks: National Parks, Conservation, & Preservation: Go back in time with Yellow Springs Heritage, visit with Teddy Roosevelt and hear details from his visit to Yosemite with John Muir in 1903. President Roosevelt will share how he and his family felt about conservation and preservation throughout his lifetime and how he saved more than 200 million acres of land for future generations to enjoy. Proceeds benefit Glen Helen and Yellow Springs Heritage. Tickets at the door and online. Auditorium. $5
Beatty Station Cycling Tour: Join the Greene County Parks & TrailsSentinels as we celebrate the nature surrounding the paved network of cyclist trails in Greene County. Come along as we follow the Little Miami Scenic Trail north from Glen Helen to Beatty Station, Springfield. On our return trip, cyclists will have the opportunity to stop at Young’s Jersey Dairy for an Ice Cream Treat. Cycling tour departs from the Glen Helen Main Entrance, along the bike path/Corry Street.
Glen Helen 5K/10K Packet Pick-UP and Walk-In Registration: Avoid the hustle and bustle on Sunday morning, pick up your packet at the festival. Haven’t registered? Stop by the 5K-10K booth to complete your entry. 1-5pm (online registration available at Speedy-Feet Racing
2 pm:
Glen Helen Welcomes the Buckeye Trail: Hear the story of Ohio’s 1444 mile trail, reaching every corner of the State – now traveling into the Glen. Follow us onto the trail and witness the historic moment when the first Buckeye Trail marker is added to Glen Helen. Trailside Museum.
3 pm:
Be Wild Again: What do you do when you find a baby rabbit? Who do you call for an orphaned songbird? Hear stories, see pictures, and learn about wildlife rehabilitation. Learn steps you can take to ensure the best possible outcome for injured or orphaned wildlife, presented by Rebecca Jaramillo, Glen Helen Raptor Center Director. Auditorium .
Heritage of the Glen Hike: Journey back in time with Yellow Springs Heritage, explore the rich history of the Glen as we visit sites, share stories, and enjoy photographs. $5 per person. Tickets available online or upon arrival. Proceeds benefit Glen Helen and Yellow Springs Heritage. Trailside Museum.
4 pm:
The Glen Helen Association Annual Meeting Presents, Glen Helen Impacts: Forging a sustainable future, both locally and globally, depends on the research and commitment of universities, ecological educators, and other institutions working to build a public base of science-related knowledge. Wright State University professors, Dr. Don Cipollini and Dr. Audrey McGowin share recent research and how you can take part in protecting the waters and the trees of Glen Helen and your local community. Auditorium.
4:30 pm:
Glen Helen Association Annual Meeting: It gives us great pleasure to welcome members, new and old, to the Glen Helen Association; elect board members, and discuss the status of the Glen Helen Association. Auditorium

Volunteers Needed: Green(e) Fest Volunteers assist vendors and visitors, paint faces, assist with activities, maintain the cleanliness of the event space, and more!
