Antioch University Midwest 2016 Commencement

Yellow Springs, OH – Karin VanZant, Executive Director of Life Services at CareSource – a company committed to ensuring its members access to affordable health care – will share remarks with Antioch University Midwest’s (AUM) 2016 graduating class Sunday, May 1. The event will begin at 2 p.m. and is being held at Clark State Community College Performing Arts Center’s Kuss Auditorium, 300 South Fountain Avenue, Springfield, Ohio.

“It’s important for graduates to hear the stories and perspectives from community leaders who are making a difference,” said AUM President Dr. Karen Schuster Webb. “Ms. VanZant has shown tremendous commitment to supporting our community through her professional work and we’re delighted that our students will be hearing from someone who has made a positive impact on local organizations and people alike through her numerous leadership roles.”

As Executive Director of the Life Services Division at CareSource, VanZant has been charged with leading a team that provides a broad approach to addressing the factors that impact a Medicaid member’s health, life situation and overall well-being. Before her work with CareSource, VanZant co-founded and led Think Tank, Inc. serving as their executive director for 10 years. VanZant has served in various leadership capacities in the nonprofit sector through the Community Action Network, both at the local level and as a member of the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies. She holds a Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Wright State University. VanZant is certified in various curriculums including Bridges Out of Poverty, Family Development and WIA Case Management. She has helped author presentations and curriculum for use within nonprofit, business and faith based organizations. Additionally, VanZant teaches at AUM and Wright State University on a variety of subjects including US Hunger and Poverty, Introduction to Human Services, Grant Writing, Leading Change, Coaching as Management, Holistic Case Management and Emotional Intelligence.
