Monthly meeting of the End of Life Community Forum at 7:00 pm in the Rockford Chapel on the Antioch campus
Free and open to the public. Newcomers welcome.

Topic: Question-and-answer panel discussion about palliative care and hospice.

Some of the questions to be addressed….
1. When do Advanced Directives (ADs) not achieve the results that the writer indicated? How often are ADs not honored and why?
2. Where does dementia and not being terminal (the six month prognosis) enter into the implementation of ADs?
3. What are the limits of autonomy in end-of-life issues?
4. What are the ethical considerations in the above?

The meeting will be at the Rockford Chapel on the Antioch campus starting at 7:00 pm. The panel members are: Cleanne Cass, MD, Director of community care and education at Hospice of Dayton; Scott Kellogg, DO, family medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and currently practicing palliative medicine at the Springfield Regional Medical Center; and Mary White, PhD, Director of the Division of Medical Humanities at the Wright State Medical School. The meeting will be moderated by Rubin Battino, LPCC, who may be contacted for further information. All are welcome to attend this public informational meeting.
