Bej Na Productions is pleased to announce the Valerie Blackwell-Truitt, Community Dance and Performance Arts Fundraiser in honor of the last Anna Clara Gee Blackwell, LPN, BS, MFA, MS, and the late Buck Allen Truitt, BA, who both passed away in 2018. Portions of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards funding student scholarships, and sporting equipment in their honor.
Choreographers and artists have created performance pieces which convey and capture a range of emotions from lightheartedness to anguish and loss. We are pleased to announce that the fundraiser is being presented in the Foundry Theater, located at 920 Corry Street on the campus of Antioch College in Yellow Springs. Performances are Friday and Saturday, May 3rd & 4th, 2019 with a 7:30pm curtain. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors; free admission for children 8 years of age and under and for Antioch students. Tickets can be purchased at the door. The Valerie Blackwell-Truitt Community Dance and Performance Arts Fundraiser 2019 features choreographers and dancers from Yellow Springs and surrounding communities ranging from young children to budding artists, to well-seasoned professionals with advanced degrees. Also featured in the fundraiser are poets, musicians and vocalists.

The Antioch College and Yellow Springs Arts Council partnerships with Dance and the performing arts in Yellow Springs and surrounding communities is so crucial and important. All are pleased to continue this relationship. Bej Na Productions wishes to thank Antioch College and the Yellow Springs Arts Council for their continued support of dance and performing arts throughout the communities.
Meet a Few of the Performers
- Connected is a group piece choreographed by local artists Victoria Walters and Keri Speck, with music by Alice Merton. The stage will be filled with fourteen performers including mother and sons, and mother and daughter.
- I Was Here is new choreography by Cincinnati Artist Ms. Ashley Perry, dancer and singer. Her piece is about the legacy she chooses to leave behind.
- Drumming presentation by Kyle M. Truitt, son of the late Buck A. Truitt
- Drumming presentation by Baoku Moses
- Poetry/Spoken Word by John Booth and Alexandra Scott
