John Bryan Community Pottery’s Fall Fundraiser
Event Location: Yellow Springs Brewery’s Barrel Room, 1475 Xenia Ave, Yellow Springs
Friday October 23, from 5pm-9pm.
Support Yellow Springs nonprofit educational pottery studio, providing ceramics access to the community since 1962. This year’s fundraiser is dedicated to supporting the future rebuild of our iconic Cone 10 Gas Reduction kiln: Big Alice. At the fundraiser you will find silent auction bundles from a wide range of local businesses, as well as hand made pottery donated for sale in support of the studio. A portion of bar sales contribute to our fundraiser, so come enjoy some time with friends, shop for gifts and support local arts education.
We are known for providing the community access to cone 10 firing through our classes and memberships. Our 40cft Gas kiln was built in 2017, to date she has been fired over 60 times, and as our studio grows the frequency of firings increase! An average kiln life span is about 100 firings, so our goal is to prepare for the rebuild within the next few years. This is large project that our studio has been saving towards. We currently have $13,000 saved up towards our total goal of $40,000 by 2028. It is with the support of community members like you that we will reach that goal.Â
