Discover Yellow Springs One Porch at a Time at YS Porchfest 2026
Looking for a one-of-a-kind way to experience Yellow Springs? YS Porchfest returns Saturday, September 19, from 12–8 p.m., turning the village into one big, walkable celebration of music, community and the people who make Yellow Springs so special.
Presented by the Yellow Springs Arts Council, YS Porchfest features more than 75 musical acts performing on nearly 50 porches throughout the neighborhoods surrounding downtown. With approximately 10 host venues performing each hour within a half-mile radius, there’s always another porch, another musician and another corner of the village waiting to be discovered.
And this year, there’s even more time to explore. Porchfest has added an extra hour, extending the festival to eight hours of live music.
“People who live in Yellow Springs tell me that Porchfest is their favorite event of the year,” says the event’s Executive Director, David Seitz. “That’s because it’s produced by the community for the community.”
That community spirit is part of what makes Porchfest such a distinctly Yellow Springs experience. Sponsorship dollars support the musicians, while the event keeps expenses as low as possible and prioritizes sustainability.
Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting Yellow Springs for the weekend, make a day of it. Start in the neighborhoods and listen from the porches. Wander downtown for shopping, food and drinks. Then keep exploring as the music leads you from one performance to the next.
“It’s a great time to hang out with your neighbors and walk in the village,” Seitz says.
